Who’s to blame?
Many of us operate on one of these 2 extremes.
Everything is your fault.
Everything is someone else’s fault.
And often, we flip between both.
Everything is someone else’s fault.
= Nothing is my fault.
= I’m not responsible.
= I don’t need to change.
“Nothing is my fault” feels goooood.
Only problem is
Your short term gain = your long term pain.
Why?
Because the first step to creating the life you want
To change what you see in your life that you don’t like/want
To build relationships that work with the people in your life that impact you most for your work, and your personal life.
That first step is to take responsibility for the life you’ve created for yourself thus far.
Yes, the life you have created, the one you have now.
And yes, I know that’s the scary, heavy “R” word.
Stay with me here.
Sh*t.
You mean it’s my fault?
Yes.
With each thought, emotion, action, reaction and inaction.
And…
Thank God you’re the one responsible for this mess.
Because if you created it, that means you can change it.
Because you can only change what is under your control.
Then there’s the opposite side…
Everything is my fault.
= I’m a loser.
= I put up with bullying (no boundaries)
= I’m a victim.
“Everything is my fault” feels so goooood.
Because as a helpless victim
You get sympathy, caring, help, loads of attention.
Only problem is
Your short term gain = your long term pain.
Because to continue being a victim, you must be helpless, you must suffer.
Yesterday my client asked if his wife would be suited to coach with me and join our group program, what would it take for the coaching to be successful.
(My clients’ husbands and wives often begin coaching too once they see how powerful the change is in their partner).
Here are 3 questions to ask yourself:
Are you truly satisfied with the “results” you are getting with your career and your personal/family - or do you want more from life?
Are you ready to do what it takes to change yourself so you can create the life you want?
Are you ready to stop blaming, stop being victim, stop existing/surviving - and instead step into the driver’s seat LIVE your life?
If your answer is “No” to any of the above, I’m not the right coach for you.
I’m not here to listen to you complain, or to say things to just make you feel better about your sh*tty life.
That’s called a “friend.”
I’m here to guide you, to help co-create the life you actually want.
